The Seattle Skills Center provides high school students with advanced, hands-on career and technical education that prepares them for college, career, and life. High school students in Seattle Public Schools can enroll in one half-day Skills Center course for up to 3 Career and Technical Education credits per year, while still attending regular school the other half of the school day.
Students can still participate in sports, activities, and stay connected with friends. Each class requires 3 periods per day (periods 1-3 for AM classes, and periods 4-6 for PM classes). Students should talk with their school counselor to make sure it will work with their schedule. Regardless of which Seattle Public high school you attend, students can take any Skills Center class.
The Skills Center team is hoping to have in-person learning in the 2021-22 school year, but we will follow guidance from state, city and district officials to determine when we can resume in-person instruction.
All Skills Center 2021-22 school year courses meet the state requirements for the CTE Graduation Pathway. See the SPS Graduation Requirements page for more information.
See full course descriptions, and complete the REQUIRED ONLINE APPLICATION (below). Students can request taxi, van, or school bus to and from their Skills Center class from their home school. See map of Skills Center locations.
