Daily lessons will be a blend of synchronous (live, on the computer) and asynchronous (recorded or independent work) learning.  Skills Center students will engage with their teacher on Teams at the beginning of the day, at least once in the middle of the day, and at the end of the school day.  In between class meetings on Teams, students will be working independently on projects, working in small groups, or getting support from their teacher.  We will have a more detailed hourly schedule to you as soon as possible.

    Strong Start:

This year the district is starting school with an abbreviated schedule as a “warm up” week. Students will be responsible for joining class for just 2 hours of instruction each day instead of the full day.  Class will start at 9:00am each day and run 2 hours per day from September 4 to September 11.

During the strong start week mornings, we will focus on welcoming students to the Skills Center, social-emotional health, building family connections, and making sure students know how to use their technology tools to access learning.

Please watch for emails from your teacher with links to the Teams meetings starting this Friday, September 4 at 9:00am.  Please email skillscenterinfo@seattleschools.org with any questions.

We look forward to meeting you via Teams during the “Strong Start” week, and starting regular classes on Monday, September 14 or Tuesday, September 15, depending on which periods you take your Skills Center class.
