    Seattle is home to the world’s greatest aircraft company and many of its supporting industries. Launch your career and college acceptance by learning how to build, service, and modify aircraft and aircraft components. Learn safety, tool identification and proper use, fastener installation, aluminum and titanium metal drilling, the use of composite materials in the aircraft manufacturing industry, and gain industry experience and college credit.

    Tech Work

    Course Objectives:

    Students will be able to perform the following tasks:  Drilling, Countersinking, Milling, Lathe work and Welding.  Students will also be introduced to Inspection techniques and Lean Manufacturing, Aluminum, Titanium, Metals and Composites.

    Benefits/Certifications/Tech Prep:

    • 1.5 Occupational Ed credits OR 1.0 Occupational Ed credit + .5 Math credit
    • 2 semesters - 1.5 credits per semester
    • OSHA 10 Certificate
    • CPT Certificate
    • Math Cross-Credit Available

    Pre-Requisites Recommended:

    • Year 1 Wood, Auto or IED PLTW
    • Year 2 Summer Skills Center Intro to Aerospace Science & Technology
